A Birthday and a New Season
Yesterday, April 26th, I celebrated my 50th birthday. As I woke up, I thanked God for the gift of a new day and the new season He is leading me into.
I decided to spend the day with family, even though they live two and a half hours away.
During the drive, my heart felt heavy. My mind raced in a million directions, reflecting on the ups and downs of the last five years—a roller coaster I pray never to ride again.
A Pity Party and a Patient Friend
As I was driving, a close friend called to wish me a happy birthday. Somehow, our conversation turned into a bit of a pity party on my part.
I poured out every emotion and thought running through my mind. Honestly, it felt like I was being my own therapist—I would voice a problem, then immediately offer a solution, even sharing what I felt God had been showing me.
Yet, even knowing the answers, I felt numb and stuck. Alone. Forgotten. A little lost in the midst of everything.
Through it all, my friend simply listened. No interrupting. No judgment. No fixing.
She was exactly the person God knew I needed in that moment.
“Sometimes, we all just need someone to be a safe place.”
God’s Gentle Reminders
What I love about God is that even at the end of our pity parties, He gently reminds us:
- He is bigger than any storm. Luke 8:22
- He is working all things together for good. Romans 8:28
- He has a plan and a purpose. Jeremiah 29:11
- He parted the Red Sea once, and He will do it again. Exodus 14:21-22
After a beautiful day with family, I headed back home.
This time, the atmosphere shifted. I turned up the praise and worship music, sang loud (with a little car-seat dancing!), and thanked Jesus for everything He has done—and everything yet to come.
Tears came, but they were tears of pure joy and gratitude.
A New Morning, A New Direction
This morning, I woke up differently. I prayed a prayer unlike any I’ve prayed before—Holy Spirit-led and full of surrender.
I got up ready to tackle the plans I had made… but God had His plan.
“Sometimes the sweetest days are the ones God interrupts.”

I laced up my walking shoes, grabbed my water, a pen, and a notebook, and followed His lead.
He brought me to a quiet park near my home, where the sun sparkled on the lake, ducks floated peacefully, kids laughed by the shore, and the gentle breeze brushed my face.
It was a moment of pure beauty—a holy reminder of His presence.
Stepping Into Obedience
Almost a year ago, God put the idea of this blog on my heart. I wrote down notes, dreamed big dreams… but fear, distractions, and life’s chaos kept me from moving forward.
I thought I was being faithful—reading my Bible, praying every morning—but I wasn’t fully obeying.
God had been speaking.
I just hadn’t been listening.
Today, sitting here in this beautiful park, I finally heard it loud and clear:
It’s time.
Welcome to Blooming Beautiful
So here I am, stepping out in obedience, excitement, and faith.
Welcome to my very first blog post for Blooming Beautiful. I am so honored that you’re here.
My prayer is that this space will bless and inspire you as you grow into the woman God created you to be. 🌷
